Daneen became Amálka, Daquin's new name is Happy, Daura is Aura, Dayet became Doby, Divian in Austria is called Fíbí, only Darien stayed Darien.

Saturday evening belonged to our fiurth whippet litter nicknamed "made my day" and puppies' names will start with the letter "D".
The delivery was not the smoothest but Berroo finally gave the birth to seven gorgeous and healthy puppies. To my surprise we got only one brindle dog ant the rest as usual fawn ones. Surprisingly they are very fawn (light), two bitches looking like twins particularly. and they are very alike our Lisbonka (Lisboa). Genes are an unpredictable thing and again the nature reminded us of the real master.
All puppies weighted between 300 and 400 grams and the biggest and first born is the brindle "green" baby dog, the smallest is the "pink" baby girl.

The mating with this amazing Polish dog was successful and it will be fun again in our kennel. Berroo is in her 25th day of pregnancy.
The doctor and I saw at least six embryos.
The due date is approx 10th January 2022.
Fingers crossed that everything ends well!!!

The annual two.day club show place this year in a new resort Vigvam in Němčice near Kolin. The weather was treat. Both days were sunny with pleasant temps. I took this opportunity to accommodate in the resort itself and enjoyed not only running in the show circle but also agreeable walks around.
The judges of this season for our club were foreigners, as usual. On Saturday we were judged by Tomasz Kuszyk, a Polish judge and owner of a long-tradition whippet kennel Synergy in Poland. On Sunday we met Mr. Christophe Coppel from Frace, an owner of Dixmoor kennel. Both gentleman are ling-time whippet breeders and breeding experts. This is why I really appreciate that fact my girls were placed so weel. What was our score? ... Lisboa was our little star!

When I held in my arms the only alive puppy Kaya from "B" litter and prayed for every hour of his life, I would have never imagined that in one year and a hlaf this beautiful fighter will run his first official dogmarathon.
The 3rd season of Herbalus Beskydy Dogmaraton 2021 is a mountain race with dogs which belongs to the series Championshio of the Czech Republic in dogmarathon. This year, the 3th season took place on Saturday 11th September in the beautiful nature of Beskydy Landscape protected Area (CHKO) Moravian-Silesian Beskids-Silesian Beskids exactly. It targets all move lovers in nature, not only runners, but also walkers who want to experience a great race atmosphere with their dog friends, test their limits and make friends.
Dogmarathon measures 42,5 km and is divided into Short one with halftrack and Mini with the track of 6,5 km. Kaya at the age of one year and half and his owner took part in the Short category which is an incredible track of 26 km! He reached the finish and was placed on 37th place in category Women from total number of 100 participants. You both are awsome! Kaya behaved like a pro, pulled forward and enjoyed the whole track. If they had not lost the track, they would have certainly reached a better position. It was their first official race if we do not count the virtual race during the lockdown that I had already mentioned before.
I am totally enthusiastic when I see the owners of my litters pass time with treir babies in such an active way and enjoy physical activity that is so vital to whippets. I am so grateful for them!

3rd September 2021 - 6 months flew fast. All six puppies live their active lives with new families that are also my families. I am in touch with all of them that makes me happy. We deal with everyday happiness and troubles of raising up whippet youth. The owners send me many pictures so I will share some too.
The first-born Tokio (pic.. 1 a 2) aka "Sisi" ia growing into a beauty and she takes after her mother most. She is a tiny whippet baby which shows already now that she will grow into a standard height and not into a giraffe which are quite common among bitches now. According to her mistress, Sisi goes through a separation crisis and dors not want to stay alone. Byt they are working on the problem and they will surely master it as the others did. It needs time. Sisi has always been a stubborn puppy doing the things her way but always kind, cudly and loving the presence of people.

The second-born Lisboa (pic.4) aka "Lisa" nebo "Lili". What to say? I am kenn on her. When I hesitated whether keep her or to find her a new home, the main reason why she stayed with us was her temper. Her character got me as she was a no-problem puppy. It is unbelievable how a nasty cheeky puppy turned into an empathic, sweet and obeying Miss. She loves movement, jumping, chasing after mice and digging holes in the garden. The issue with lack of eating nad gaining weight is over. She is fond of food, especially meat. She copies her mum in a body structure, she is not too tall which entres her into a standard height, hurray! Her hair color is very interesting aas well. I have to admit that light color whippet are not my favorites, it was one of the criterria that decided to have her with us. She literary sparkles among other dogs at home. And this light blue fawn shade is very elegant. I am curious to see what is before us and I cannot wait to discover it.

The third-born Berlin (pic.5) aka "Angel" has been since the birth a sturdy dog and he still is. I do not think he would go over a standard height but he will definitely be a robust dog when adult with a pretty blue fawn color and mesmerie eyes. Apparently he is not such an angel anymore and he can also show his small horns. He is a member of our numerous "Prague Gang" and together with Tokio and Helsinki they take a part in common walks and other activities.

The fourth-born Denver (pic.6,7 a 8) aka "Deny" is a real twin of our Lisbona. When we went to pay them a visit I had hard time to recognize who is who. Deny with no problems got used to life tempo in a new pleasant family. He enjoy the big garden for running, less appreciated digging holes and collecting all kinds of staff appropriate for eating. I hope eating snails is over now. He also grows into a sturdy dog, he is not tall so certainly of a standard height and with an interesting elegant color. I am sure to meet him at the show.

The last but one Nairobi (pic. 9 a 10) aka "Nairi" chose the wrong card-which is weak health. At her four months she got ab accident and tore bth fron crossed ligaments of her right leg knee. (pic. foto FB Animal Clinic Praha) She had to undertake a complicated operation which are performed by two clinics only in the whole country. This kind of intervention with such a small puppy is really special. Long bones are still in development and you cannot apply standard operation methods used with adult dogs. But Nairobi was brave and my big thanks go to the owners and Animal Clinic in Prague that they did not give up and were ready to invest huge amount of money to make Nairobi run with the wind again. The operation ended perfectly, the recovery follows the plan and little Nairobi gets into a daily routine of a six-months old dog. The best of luck, hone!

And the last one Helsinky (pic.12 a 13) aka "Helsi" is still a double honey. The owners do not stop praising him. In the summer they attended many trips. They regularly go to the chalet in the Jizersky mountains where he can enjoy meadows, woods and running with no limits. As I have already mentioned he is a member of "Prague Whippet Gang" (obr.3 a 14) a pohyb ve městě není tak úžasný jako v divoké přírodě.

What to say when closing? The litter "C" became juniors and I can state that I am satisfied with their progress. The owners mastered a complicated puppy age and now teenage and maturing years are before them.

After a longer break the full team which consists of Valentina, Berroo and little Lisboa headed for an international show DuoCACIB Brno which took place 14th -15th August 2021. Regarding the jury, I decided to participle only on Sunday. Unlike Olins' owners (Olin from litter "A") who competed both days and very good results.
For little Lisboa it was the premiere and she handled it well. She was the only puppy to run the blue carpet and showed herself to judge. With no hasitation showed her exhibition spirit and gained mark "Very promising 1". Unfortunately, at this show there was no final competitions for younger puppies and Lisboa was mot able to take part in final show for the best puppy of the show. It is such a pity because with her beautiful and profesional appearance she would have certainly caught the judge and she might have won her place.
I was so enthusiastic abot Olin this time. He got both days in a difficult open class EXC. 1 CAC and on Sunday also BOS and as the icing on the cake CACIB as well..He showed himself greatly and won with justice. My girls did not bright too much this time. Valentina gainded 2nd place in Champion Class and Berroo had very bad day. The moment the judge took out the meaauring instrument in order to measure the shoulder height, she got totally crazy. She jumped of the exhibition table and was not able to be halted. She finished as third in competition of six bitches in Open class but with mark "Very Good" for her behavior. But whatever, as I have said earlier, every champion has his VG...

A very talented jumper discovered. Lisboa found new joy and passion in jumping so I made her a small agility track. Finally! I have a dog at home that likes it, has talent and easily gets what is asked for.
In the beginning we tried only low obstacles but to my surprise her jumps are so high and agile that I do no spare her and we train every day for 15 minutes. The obstacles are even a half of a meter height and the girl jump over and still has some reserve. She quickly understood what I needed from her. We started with a treat and now she just obeys my hand order and she is only four months old!
We manage all osbtacles, go around the mark and tunnel. A slalom is still too complicated for her but she will definitely comprehend it soon. It will be a bomb. Let us just hope I will survive running myself! :-)
The pictures show one of the first training where the obstacles were quite low yet. But it is already visible how easily she jumped over.
