19th September 2026 - The Polish city of Rybnik, located near the Czech border, hosts two annual cynological events, which take place on the last weekend of the holidays and then in mid-September. The first event is a two-day international dog show held for many years in the MOSIR Kamień sports and recreation area. The second is a national dog show focused on hunting dog breeds, again in the same area.
This year we participated in both shows with very contradictory results, which show, in the first case, that each judge explains the breed standard in his own way and if you speak up, you will be punished. And in the second case, that if a judge who shows his own dog appears in the show ring with you, he will always win. Yes, this is probably how the situation at the two-day international show could be described. I am not going to write more about it, it is a waste of my time! I am presenting the results (for fun) below.
The second show is smaller, therefore with a much nicer and more intimate atmosphere. It took place on the third Saturday of September and we met again very nice whippets and many nice faces of our Polish friends. I entered only Cusco for both shows, while Mesa went as an escort on the first day of the international show as part of her training and stayed home for the next few days. Cusco presented himself in excellent physical and mental shape at both shows, which convinced me that he had grown into a truly special dog for me.
