13th September 2026 - We also spent the second weekend of the first calendar month of autumn at a dog show. This time at home in the Czech Republic, at the Floracanis international dog show in Olomouc. This is the only international dog show in the Czech Republic that is really close to us and it would be a shame not to participate.
This time, only our male part of the Baya Nobles team went to the show, consisting of Cusco, Galileo and Thor for the four-legged ones and me, Zorka and her mother for the two-legged ones. The weather was good for us, although it was colder than we were used to in the last few weeks, but we started the greyhounds incredibly early, right at 9:00 in the morning, so it was to be expected. The judging was taken over by a very pleasant and dog-friendly judge, Dr. György Tesics from Hungary, who liked our boys a lot. Except for Thor, who he criticized for things that the other judges, on the contrary, highly appreciated, which raised a little doubt in me whether the judge in the champion class was looking at the right end of the leash for the winner... But that's another story. I was very pleasantly surprised by Gali's award in the very difficult open class, where he came in first place out of six dogs. Cusco then won the intermediate class with a very nice judgment.
Overall, it was a very pleasant show, where we met many familiar faces and I must not forget Tori's sister Saga, who received an Excellent grade in a very well-filled open class with 10 females.
